A Guide To These Fabulous
Beauty Accessories
False eyelashes are one of the biggest fashion trends this season. These fabulous beauty accessories are getting a huge amount of TV exposure at the moment, from stars doubling up their lashes on X-Factor to the glamorous lashes of Strictly Come Dancing.
There are two main types of false eyelashes that can be purchased on the high street or online. These are strip false lashes and individual false lashes. Strip lashes are generally more popular than individual lashes as they are quicker to use. Individual lashes must be glued to each lash you wish to lengthen. However, they last much longer than strip lashes.
False eyelashes are worn by teenagers and women of all ages (and in some cases by men too!); the lash pattern depends on both the person and therefore the occasion. Some lashes are far too extreme to be worn during the day and are often reserved for parties or special occasions.
Why wear false lashes? Not all women are blessed with long, lush eyelashes and the look has other ways of lengthening theirs. they will draw more attention to your eyes. Fake lashes can make your own lashes look fuller, but this depends on the thickness of the fake lashes. People who wear false eyelashes do so to form a press release... and some eyelashes do attract attention! Some are super long and thick, while others are a bright colour.
If you've never tried these beauty accessories before, it's a good idea to start with the shorter and longer ones, as they will take some getting used to. Girls With Attitude offers a variety called Shorties, which are designed to be worn every day and offer a more natural look than other lashes on the market. These lashes are designed for a momentary eye lift.
The false eyelashes are applied with a special eyelash adhesive, which is usually found in the box that comes with them, but must be purchased separately. Simply compare the width of the lash strip with your own lashes and trim off the excess. Using tweezers, hold the lash and apply a small amount of lash glue along the strip. It is very important to ensure that the glue becomes tacky before applying it. This usually takes about 30 seconds. Place the lash as close to your lash line as possible and lower it from the inner to the outer corner of your eyes. Hold it there until it's finished.
As Christmas approaches, false eyelashes make great stocking stuffer gifts. Not only do they fit in a stocking, but they're also affordable. Girls can also look good for the festive season with a pair of lashes.
